Shaw & Co is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexei Garan and Colin Burns to the newly created Debt Advisory practice.

Launched specifically to help SMEs find suitable credit, the debt advisory team is focussed on providing independent advice across the complex, yet abundant SME lending landscape. This additional expertise further enhances Shaw & Co’s ability to secure clients the right funding for their business across the spectrum.

Alexei joins as Head of Debt Advisory having started his career at Lazards before working within HBOS and lately running his own debt advisory practice focusing on the most demanding of restructuring mandates. His wealth of experience across the alternative lending markets will be invaluable to clients and will bring to bear a vast selection of funding options not available through high street lenders.

Colin joins as a Director in the team and with over 25 years experience in corporate banking with major high street names, he brings an understanding of mainstream funding appetites and insights that will allow clients to maximise their banking relationships. Colin will also lead our recently announced partnership to deliver unsecured lending to SMEs with Caple.

"
Bringing on board the expertise offered by Alexei and Colin represents a major step forward for Shaw & Co. "

Founder & CEO at Shaw & Co

Shaw added: "It is an exciting development for our clients who will now be able to access increased funding options to support both transactions and growth as usual. We are delighted to be able to better service the needs of our clients in an increasingly complex funding landscape”.
