Jane Lamper is the Funding Academy Manager at Bristol-based Shaw & Co. She is part of one of the largest corporate finance advisory teams in the South West. Below she provides a summary of her career, her current role and what she does in her spare time.

I joined Shaw & Co in 2019 having built my marketing and business development career over 30 years in companies including Vitality UK and Prudential Assurance. I am a collaborative networker who brings Founders of high growth businesses, Accelerator Hubs and Support Networks together.

After graduating from Glasgow University with a degree in Public Administration, my earlier career began as an independent financial advisor at banks including Royal Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale Bank and Abbey National.

I moved into marketing management at Prudential Assurance where I was the Central Events Manager for its UK intermediary distribution. I was then appointed as a Business Development Manager at Vitality UK where I supported the growth of my own panel advisers.

At Shaw & Co, I lead the design and delivery of the Funding Academy programme. It’s my responsibility to ensure the syllabus is relevant, that all our students are guided through the programme and have a positive experience.

I also support our Chief Marketing Officer with the delivery of marketing activities as well as acting as a brand ambassador across the South West’s growth ecosystem.

When I’m not at Shaw & Co, I enjoy playing fair weather golf and – despite my improving handicap – have been lucky to play on some of the world’s top courses. I thoroughly enjoy a bit of winter sun which could be on the beach, or preferably on the side of a piste with a mug of hot chocolate with rum! At home I will ask Alexa to surprise me with a playlist and have a dance in the kitchen.
