Daisy is a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Manager at Bristol-based Shaw & Co. She is a member of one of the largest corporate finance advisory teams in the South West. Below she provides a summary of her career, her current role and what she does in her spare time.

I joined Shaw & Co in 2019 building on 5-years of audit experience at BDO. I have a forensic interest in the profitability and valuations of businesses.

I started my career at BDO where I joined their School Leaver Program in Audit. I gained detailed insight into the day to day running of a wide range of businesses in several sectors including legal, construction, advertising and manufacturing.

During my time at BDO, I undertook studies and successfully qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Since joining Shaw & Co, I assist clients who are looking to either sell their company, acquire a company (through a management buy-out or otherwise) or raise equity investment for their company.

I help my M&A colleagues to prepare investment papers such as Information Memoranda, build and review forecast models. I also undertake market research to help build an understanding of client industries and identify potential buyers, sellers and comparable transactions. I routinely liaise with clients, funders and intermediaries during the execution of transactions.

During my relatively short time at Shaw & Co, I have supported transactions in excess of £35m and have helped some great clients including Recipero and Nanopharm.

When I’m not at Shaw & Co, I love all things active. Despite having no natural talent in any sport, I enjoy running, going to the gym and I’m a happy observer of rugby and cricket. I also have a passion for travel and have ticked quite a few places off my dream destination list – next stop Peru!
